wrongful termination - Manager Service towards employees
I worked at applebees from Oct 2014-April 2015 and I believe I was wrongfully terminated. I have no write ups and was harassed by my general manager Shoen who said my tables undercooked food and another table having dirty silverware and cold food was my fault. I asked for his help which you should be able to ask of a manager and got yelled at and sent home for trying to get help for several tables whose complaints had nothing to do with my service. I've seen him talk to many employees this way (some that have worked there for several years) and one has even quit. At the time of my termination I was outside waiting on my boyfriend so I could get his phone and leave at which point Shoen came outside and began yelling saying I'm not aloud on the property at which point I was not terminated. My boyfriend heard from the kitchen and came outside and said he wasn't gonna stand for him harassing me to which Shoen replied well if you're gonna jump on this bandwagon you can leave to. He clocked out and as we began to leave I was told to turn in my apron. I do not appreciate the way I was spoke to. I don't think he had any right to fire me and I want to make a formal complaint with HR against him and I also would like noted that on more than one occasion I have overheard inappropriate sexual comments from him to employees, including myself. I'm not interested in unemployment or getting my job back while he is there but I was wrongfully terminated and I want that documented against him in the event of more employees feeling this way. I rarely worked with Shoen because he was there during the day if he was there but on the occasions I did he was snarky and I never felt comfortable asking him for help or to discuss a problem without feeling like I would be yelled at and talked down to.
